Jennifer Rohn
Professor Jennifer Rohn heads the Urological Biology, Infection and Cancer group in the Centre for Kidney & Bladder Health in the Division of Medicine at University College London. Her laboratory focuses mainly on host/pathogen interactions in urinary tract infection, examining bacterial behaviour and treatment failure at the mucosal interface using advanced human microtissue and organ-on-chip models. More recently, her lab has been developing innovative bladder cancer models for personalised medicine using patient-derived tissue and immune components. In addition, Jenny collaborates with engineering, clinical and industrial colleagues to develop novel therapeutics for both urological diseases via the UCL spinout company AtoCap Ltd. Jenny earned her PhD in Microbiology at the University of Washington, Seattle USA. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the Cancer Research UK London Research Institute and a group leader position in a start-up company in the Netherlands, she re-joined academia at UCL in 2006 with a Wellcome fellowship and was promoted to Professor in 2021.
