Christmas Gift Ideas from ERIC

Give a meaningful charity gift this Christmas from our ERIC shop. Here are some great products and ideas for your loved ones.

Christmas is coming, which means it’s time to get that gift list in check! Here at ERIC, we have lots of great products that make perfect festive gifts, whether that’s a fun stocking filler for a child who’s been on a journey with us at ERIC; or a helpful bed pad or car seat cover to ease parents’ worries during December outings.

Perhaps you’d like to donate to help families affected by a bladder or bowel condition this Christmas – whether yourself or on behalf of someone else, as their present from you.

Every item we sell in our online shop has been selected by our continence experts and chosen for their quality and reliability. We proudly support a lot of small, independent businesses too.

Our friendly and knowledgeable shop staff are here to talk about your purchase, to help you make the right choice. Plus, when you buy from ERIC, all profits from sales go back into funding our charitable services – the cherry on top of the Christmas pudding!

Reminder watch

blue reminder watch

These trendy-looking watches look like regular watches or fitness trackers, but they have a useful secret: a discreet, vibrating alarm to remind your child to go to the toilet, drink more water or take medication.

They’re available in different colours (that won’t break school uniform rules!) so you can pick their favourite, making them a cool gift to unwrap on Christmas morning that will help a child with their continence journey. Buy them in blue or pink.

Books

Make story time educational this Christmas by gifting children our fun, engaging books that’ll teach them about toileting. All our books are read and reviewed by our staff, so you can be confident that the information and tips in them can be trusted.

There’s loads to choose from in our shop, like ‘Suzie’s Toilet Time’ to ease toileting anxiety; or ‘No More Nappies’, an interactive book about characters who are learning to use the potty for the first time (perfect for anyone starting their potty training journey).

Why not try ‘Everything A Child Needs To Know About Bedwetting’ for children aged 6-12 with a bedwetting condition, teaching them that they are not alone in bedwetting and that it can get better with treatment.

Lastly, you can personalise books My Poo and My Potty by creating the character for the book: choose their name, skin tone, hair style and colour, clothes and glasses.

Donation to ERIC

Unsure which gift to buy? Consider making a donation to ERIC, either on behalf of someone else who’s benefitted from our services, as their Christmas gift; or as a gift to support another family through 2024, who are going through bowel and bladder difficulties and need our help.

Every penny adds up to support our ERIC services so every donation of any amount makes a big difference.

Tom Tag toilet routine mini kit

If your child (or the child of a friend or family member) is embarking on their toileting journey, this toilet routine mini kit is great for teaching children how to perform their toileting routines independently.

This step-by-step visual reminder encourages independence by giving the child responsibility over their toileting routine, which can increase their self-confidence. It’s also a discrete way to remind older children and adults of the steps they need to take.

Plus, it can be used in the bathroom as it’s durable, easy-clean and the stickers are water-resistant.  This is not a toy and it is not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts.

Toilet time teaching cards

These toilet time teaching cards help children understand toileting routine and the process of using the toilet. They can be especially useful for those with autism or communication difficulties.

Sit and learn together with your child using these durable cards with clear graphics. The set comprises of 10 cards showing a girl and 10 cards showing a boy in the process of using a toilet. They come with an 18-page guide to toileting children by Dr Eve Fleming (MB CHB BA MRCPCH).

Poo and wee stocking fillers

It’s important to get kids talking openly about bowel and bladder health from a young age, to ensure good communication throughout toileting journeys and to break any embarrassment around continence issues.

Not only will they love opening these fun wee- and poo-themed prezzies on Christmas morning, it’ll also get them talking!

Check out our stretchy poo toy, which can relieve stress and aid concentration;  tub of glittery, pink unicorn ‘poo’ slime; and poo emoji keyrings which come in different colours.

Cheeky Wipes pants for wetting

Useful clothing gifts are a Christmas staple – choose some that will help your children’s continence journey.

These pants are for mild to moderate wetting accidents. They are not suitable for night times as a nappy or pull up replacement; nor for full incontinence or full overnight bladder release. They have 2 bands inside where an extra booster pad can be placed if you feel your child needs extra protection.

Car seat protector

Make Christmas visits to family and friends easier (for yourself, or someone else) with this car seat protector. The P&S On The Go Training Pad is a 3-layer waterproof backed pad which can be used on a car seat – and it doubles up as useful for buggies too. Hello stress-free festive journeys!

Bed pads and sleeping bag liners

We know sleepovers can be challenging when it comes to continence issues or potty training.

With more visits to family members around Christmastime, you or your loved ones might find these washable bed wetting sheets helpful. The Hygge Bed Pads can be placed directly on top of the fitted sheet, meaning they can be quickly taken off in the night.

They’ve been designed with comfort in mind and attached tucks/flaps mean they’ll stay put, even with wriggly kids. The cool patterns (rainbow or dinosaur!) mean your kids will love them as much as you.

Festive sleepover? Try this Urifoon waterproof sleeping bag liner, which can also be used in a bed under a sheet. It can help take the worry out of school trips, camping or even staying in a hotel.

Helpful videos

Snuggle up by the Christmas tree and watch our educational-but-fun ERIC videos with your child, like Sam’s story, to help them understand more about wee and poo.

It can be useful for them to learn how bladders and bowels work (and any conditions they may be living with) in this fun, friendly way to help them with their journey and ease any worries.

They can also watch videos of other children’s stories, so they know they aren’t alone with any issues they may be facing – this Christmas and all year round.

Merry Christmas, from everyone at ERIC!
