This course will be delivered via Zoom webinar over two half-day sessions, as follows:
Includes an introduction to Clean Intermittent Catheterisation, management of indwelling catheters, Mitrofanoff care and bowel washouts via ACE and rectally.

Part 1: Complex Bowels

09.45 – 10.15 Session A: Recap on anatomy and physiology, bowel assessment and management of constipation using ERIC's Children's Continence Pathway
10.15 – 11.00 Session B: Children with complex bowel conditions:
- Neuropathic bowels
- Anorectal anomalies
- Intractable constipation
- Ulcerative colitis / Crohn’s disease
11.00 – 11.15 Break
11.15 – 12.30 Session C: Steps towards managing bowel emptying problems
- Use of suppositories/ enemas
- Simple rectal washouts
- More complex rectal washouts including a look at a range of current equipment

This course will be delivered via Zoom webinar.
If you are not available to watch this session live, there will be access to the recording for 1 month but you will still need to register.

The cost of the course is £100 per person. Please note that we can only accept payment by card through our booking system.
If you want to pay by invoice this can be done but please note that payment by this method will cost £130 per person and we must have the purchase order document at the time of booking. Please email [email protected] if you require further information regarding invoice payments.
Cancellation policy
If written notification is received 30 days before the course, we will issue a refund. We regret that no refunds can be made on bookings cancelled less than 30 days before the course. A colleague may attend in your place rather than forfeit the full course fee.
ERIC reserves the right to cancel the course. In the unlikely event of cancellation by ERIC, course fees paid will be refunded in full

Brenda started her nursing career in London in 1983. After her general training Brenda specialised in children’s nursing, and over the years has worked with adults and children, in London and Cardiff in both hospital and community settings. Since 2002 she has focussed on paediatric continence, working as Paediatric Specialist Continence Nurse at the University Hospital of Wales until summer 2018.
