Siân Wicks joins ERIC as CEO
ERIC, The Children’s Bowel & Bladder Charity is delighted to welcome Siân Wicks as CEO, following the retirement of Juliette Rayner.

Siân brings both clinical and commercial experience, having spent more than 40 years in the health, social care, and education sectors. She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care, and of Haven House Children’s Hospice, and continues as Chairman of the Board for Achieving for Children Ltd. She was previously Chief Nurse in the independent sector, in addition to her clinical expertise with neonates, children and young people.
Passionate about making a difference, she has devoted her career to improving outcomes for children and young people and brings with her a strong network of connections in the children’s health, education and social care spaces.
Commenting on her appointment to the role, Siân said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining ERIC. I firmly believe that good bowel and bladder health for children and young people is essential to their overall wellbeing. These are issues that people can find hard to talk about, so it’s great that ERIC is breaking down these barriers and I’m keen to keep driving this forward.
“Our mission is to get everyone talking about good bladder and bowel health from birth – from offering support and information around potty training and school readiness, to educating and working in partnership with parents, early years and healthcare professionals, and continuing our work with young people living with complex bladder and bowel conditions.
“There couldn’t be a more pressing time for these interventions to take place. Demand is so high that ERIC needs to collaborate, innovate, and expand our reach to improve outcomes for children and young people”.
Wendy Thompson, Chair of Trustees at ERIC, The Children’s Bowel & Bladder Charity, said:
“I am extremely pleased to be welcoming Siân Wicks, with such an impressive track record in children’s health. I am confident that Siân will continue to develop ERIC’s service offering and find innovative new ways to provide advice, education, and emotional support around bowel and bladder health.
“As well as offering Siân a warm welcome, we’re also waving a fond farewell to outgoing CEO Juliette Rayner, who has been with us for the last decade.
“It has been a period of unprecedented transformation and growth for the charity, and Juliette has been at the forefront of expanding our reach across the country, and cross-platform, as we developed our online services and e-learning offering. We want to thank her for everything she has done to make ERIC what it is today.
“The charity is now in a strong position to move forward and continue this valuable work, as we continue to advocate for children and young people, and increase awareness of bowel and bladder health”.
We hope that you will join us in welcoming Siân, and we look forward to collaborating with more of you in future as we strive to make a difference for children and young people.
