Potty Training Heroes
Would you like to help parents and carers who need some support with potty training? We're looking for volunteers on our new project, Potty Training Heroes...
Purpose of role
This is an exciting new opportunity for volunteers with experience of potty training children to support the work of our Family Services team. Volunteers will provide support and information to parents and carers who are potty training their children.
This is a remote role and volunteers will be based at home. We ask volunteers to commit to a regular weekly session of 3 hours, ideally for a minimum period of 6-9 months, which helps to ensure consistency and maintains our high standards of practice.
We are recruiting for this role now, however we anticipate the project will be up and running in June, with training in May. The application process may take up to 4 weeks and volunteers will then complete our training before starting.
Tasks may include:
- Responding to webchat enquiries about potty training
- Signposting to appropriate resources on our website
- Recording your work on our IT systems
- Sending follow-up emails, making calls & booking callbacks from an advisor
Skills and qualities:
- Confident with IT including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook & Excel)
- Able to work independently using own initiative
- Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Non-judgmental and recognises the importance of confidentiality
- Friendly telephone manner, able to listen carefully & respond in a helpful way
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Ability to work within the clear boundaries of the role and refer to a helpline advisor where needed
- Volunteers must follow ERIC’s policies and practices at all times, which includes ERIC’s approach to potty training and safeguarding concerns
Please note we undertake background checks on all potential volunteers, which may include a Basic level DBS check and obtaining a reference.
